Dave's Biography
Dave Walsh is a strategic leader with broad-based business, financial and operational expertise gained from over two decades of residential real estate sales, management and training. As Vice President/Manager of the Alain Pinel RealtorÆs (APR) Almaden office in San Jose, he is responsible for overseeing the existing real estate sales professionals and staff, recruiting, increasing market share in the region and for reviewing buy/sell agreements and other operational duties.
Prior to joining APR in December 2007, Mr. Walsh was General Manager with Windemere Silicon Valley Properties. Over the course of his ten-year post at Windemere, he led the transformation of its small office of 9 sales agents in one location to the companyÆs status of 200+ agents in 6 locations. Most recently, he had general management responsibilities and oversaw an office of sixty-six agents in the Silver Creek Valley area of San Jose.
Dave has a history of being at the forefront of real estate trends, its policies and industry organizations. Beginning January 1, he is the 2008 President for the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors (SCCAOR). Additionally, he will serve as a Director for region 13 for the National Association of Realtors in 2008. In December 2007, he was awarded the ôRealtor of the Yearö by the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors.
Previously Dave was Director for the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and Director for the California Association of Realtors (CAR) representing District 9 and District 19 (2001 to 2007). In 2002, he was chosen to Chair the Los Gatos-Saratoga District for CAR and served on the Board of Directors for SILVAR.
Dave frequently speaks on industry panels and teaches contract classes at the board level and to real estate agents. He is passionate about consumer protection, risk management and the professional standards of Realtors especially on the subjects of real estate ethics and professional conduct.
Originally from Canada, his family immigrated to California in 1959, Dave began his career in the real estate industry in 1980 first as a sales associate and later becoming a broker. From 1985 to 1990, he operated a real estate company in Campbell, a 35-agent firm he helped establish and later sold to his partners. Dave was recruited to work at the Residential Division of Grubb & Ellis where he spent five years as Sales Manager. He left Grubb & Ellis to join Prudential Realty, Los Gatos office when that division was sold to Fox & Carskadon.
